One of the greatest assets of the Pinelands is the vast number of streams and rivers that flow through the Pine Barrens. These wetlands are sustained by the vast Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifers immediately beneath the surface of the Pine Barrens, and contain over 17 trillion gallons of water.
