Barbara Walsh, Executive Director of CAHE since 2011, also practices as a planning consultant, focusing on affordable housing planning and administration and serves as Executive Director to Affordable Housing Professionals of New Jersey, which she founded, as Municipal Housing Liaison and Administrative Agent to two municipalities and as an instructor for the Rutgers University Center for Government Services. Prior to 2009 when she retired from the pubic sector, she had over 25 years of experience in the field of planning and zoning as a professional and citizen at the state, county and local levels of government, including Director of Plan Administration at COAH, Manager of the planning staff at the Office of Smart Growth (aka Office of State Planning), Bergen County Planning & Economic Development Dept., and Ringwood, Mahwah and Wayne municipalities. She founded the NJ Association of Planning and Zoning Administrators and serves on the Board of Counselors of NJ Planning Officials, as well as the NJAPA Housing Committee. She received a B.A. degree from Hunter College and a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University.
